La La Land fans slipped into the shoes of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in London on Tuesday.

Attending the free bootcamp dance class, they learned the tap routines from the Oscar-winning musical.

Sophie Mortman and Henry Yuliano found out about the class on Facebook and it was no question they’d join.

“We’re a huge La La Land fans, have seen the movie three times,” Sophie said. “It was amazing to see a free bootcamp come to town.”

They said that although the steps were a bit difficult because neither of them were dancers, but it was a lot of fun learning the routines.

On the other hand though, they both sing and even have their own recording of “City of Stars,” one of the soundtracks from the musical.

Working together with City Academy instructors, Bidvine, an online local service marketplace, brought the two workshops to London after seeing a sharp incline in interest in dance lessons since the movie was released.

“We saw a lot of people requesting dancing and singing,” Russ Morgan, Bidvine co-founder, said. “We thought it was a good combination. Why don’t we raise awareness of this amazing film and have a little fun at the same time?”

And, the good time was guaranteed even if for most attendees, it was the first time trying tap dancing.

Lina Jost said she listens to the songs from the musical all the time, and although she’s danced Swing and Charleston before, she has never done tap dancing. However, she said it wasn’t hard to follow.

“We had great instructions, so it was easy to catch on,” she said.

The two around 45-minute workshops gave a fun snippet of the world of the musical to attendees. They tapped away and left with a fun experience and a certificate of completion for “having awesome dance moves” and pursuing their passions.
