In the name of the father, son and the House of Gucci, the stars gave it their all last night for the London premiere of director Sir Ridley Scott’s newest fashion film.

And as you might have sleuthed, Alessandro Michele, who is the current creative director of Gucci, designed the majority of the looks that made their way down the carpet outside the Odeon Luxe Cinema in Leicester Square.

Lady Gaga stole the show in a billowing sheer violet Gucci gown, worn with thigh high fishnets and black leather platform heels. She plays Patrizia Reggiani, the wife of Maurizio Gucci, who she was convicted of assassinating in 1995.

All that glitters was gold lamé when it came to Salma Hayek, who wore a gilded pleated frock from the Italian fashion house. Hayek, who is married to François-Henri Pinault, the CEO of Gucci’s parent company Kering, plays Pina Auriemma in the film.

When it came to the menswear, Jared Leto came out effortlessly, and expectedly, on top. The actor, who just last week was walking the Gucci Love Parade catwalk along Hollywood Boulevard, wore a cerulean blue velvet suit, cut sharply at the shoulder, with a shawl lapel by the brand. It was dressed up with a crystal embellished anatomical heart bag, and white manicure to match his boots. In other words, Mr Leto understood the assignment.

Adam Driver, the much loved star, who plays the co-lead as Maurizio Gucci, looked more bank clerk that Hollywood sensation in a plain navy Burberry suit with white shirt and grey tie. Granted, he is the new face of the brand’s fragrance Burberry Hero, but creative director Riccardo Tisci has heaps more exciting men’s designs in the bank.

Other stand-out attendees last night included Bimini Bon Boulash, who was striking in an off-the-shoulder black velvet gown with platform shoes (even higher than Gaga’s) and patent leather black gloves. Cynthia Erivo wore a knit dress with Schiaparelli jewellery, while tailor Ozwald Boateng did classic suiting in style with a three-piece in a patterned deep sea blue.

Flocks headed to Covent Garden’s glitzy new hotel NoMad for the after party which was decked out in disco balls for what was undoubtedly a sparkling evening. And so the wait for us to see the film begins.

House of Gucci is out in cinemas in the UK on November 26. Click through the gallery above to catch up on the best looks from the London premiere.
