Life coach: Dan Rookwood

Our life coach on the best sunglasses and Berluti's reopened flagship store

What sunglasses would you recommend?

The problem with sunglasses is they’re too easily lost or sat upon. Cheap pair from the market? No. The warped lenses will ruin your eyes; the ‘Roy-Bin’ logo will ruin your street cred. I have one pair of prescription sunnies for hangovers when I’m not seeing eye to eye with contact lenses — I chose Ray-Ban Wayfarers as they’ll never date. Persol 714s are similarly timeless, plus they’re foldable. But this is the summer of rounded frames — unless you have a round face, in which case stick to squarer styles. Try Cutler and Gross 0737 or 1083; Oliver Peoples’ Gregory Peck (pictured), or Oliver Spencer X Eye Respect.

BERLUTI

Eek. Not much room left here to rhapsodise about Berluti’s freshly polished flagship, which reopened last week. Quite simply the finest shoes and bags (a lot) of money can buy. One day, Dan, one day…
