Our life coach on the rise of the mankle and Burberry's LC:M show

I’m seeing lots of men wearing shoes without socks. Doesn’t that make their feet stink?

Yep, which is why I rarely do it. But the ‘No socks please, we’re British’ trend shows no sign of abating. The rise of the mankle — a portmanteau from ‘man’ and ‘ankle’ — has put the high into high street. Cheesy feet — aka bromhidrosis (and no, that isn’t a portmanteau) — is caused by bacteria breeding as sweat decomposes. To cure it, wash your feet daily in an antibacterial skin cleanser such as HiBiScrub, use foot deodorant, and try medicated insoles. Oh, and give shoes at least a day’s rest between wearing to dry them out fully. Your fellow commuters will thank you.

BURBERRY’S LC:M SHOW

My highlight of last week’s fantastic London Collections: Men was Burberry’s homecoming show, inspired by painter David Hockney and writer Alan Bennett. You can see the show and buy the coats and accessories from the catwalk at uk.burberry.com.
