Life coach: Dan Rookwood

Our resident life coach on festival-appropriate attire and Breitling's new flagship

What’s a practical but cool outfit to wear to a festival?

Get thee to Urban Outfitters, Topman, Burton, River Island and Asos — all of which do cool festival gear so cheap you won’t care if it gets more trashed than you do. Me? I’d wear a Breton T-shirt, denim shorts, navy Timberland boat shoes, a straw trilby-type hat, a yellow K-Way pac-a-mac and some cheap Vans sunnies you won’t mind losing. Or you could sport a Kestrel-soaked zebra-print onesie, a jester’s hat and the expression of a man who has lost his inhibitions/mind. Look around: it’s a bigger trend than it really should be.

Breitling

At the recent launch of Breitling’s new flagship, I saw the coolest watch of 2013. The Emergency II (released this autumn) could literally save your life. When activated, its locator beacon will send out a distress signal and get a search and rescue team to find you, wherever you are in the world. Even the mosh pit at the Brixton Academy.
