Today is April Fool’s Day - which means you’ve probably been fooled once or twice by a bogus news story in the press or on the internet.

The annual day of comedy sees Brits across the country attempt to prank each other, in a tradition that’s been around since the 19th century.

And this year has been no different - from vegetarian beef jerky to hamburger flavoured gin, London has been inundated with April Fools’ wind-ups.

While many of the marketing stunts have been a cloying (and ineffective) plea for our attention, some brands really did do a convincing job of making Londoners believe a bogus story.

Even more surprising? We’d actually like to see some of these ‘hoax’ press announcements actually come to fruition - probably not the placenta pie, but definitely the telepathic Deliveroo service.
