Shabby chic: Sit back with a cocktail in this Japanese restaurant with a twist
29 July 2014

The look: Shabby chic. The big brother to the intimate Japanese style pub on the King's Road with minimal décor, ambient lighting and ram shackle wooden benches packed closely to a bustling kitchen. Exposed piping, caged lightbulbs and heavy metal shelving give this new venture an industrial edge. A playful cocktail list with cheeky twists and a delectable post Japanese cuisine has celebrities gravitating towards this popular eatery.

Who’s behind it? Ex Nobu Chef Scott Hallsworth launched the Chelsea pop-up that became permanent on the King's Road before embarking on this second venture in Marble Arch.

Got there if: You have ever wondered what it’s like to eat real Japanese food.

What should I try? Sweet potato and soba-ko fries with sauces to start, followed by free range chicken kushi-yaki with Japanese BBQ sauce and soft shell crab tempura. We've all got to eat our greens so try the grains and greens salad with honey-soy-ginger dressing to share. In fact, the menu is all about sharing so mix it up.

Cheque out: Expect to pay around £35 per person, including a cocktail.

How do I book? Call 0203 475 4158 or visit kurobuta-london.com
