After the rain last Sunday, you might have been fooled into thinking that was the end of our seemingly endless heatwave.

Alas, the heatwave is back with a vengeance this weekend with temperatures reaching 32C yesterday and looking to reach 30C both Saturday and Sunday.

For those who aren’t heading to Brighton for Pride festival today, you’re probably thinking about visiting your local lido.

London’s lidos have been a staple of our capital for years, and act as the best way to cool off when the weather gets uncomfortably hot.

So we’ve taken a look back at Londoners from years gone by enjoying their time at the lidos.

This fascinating glimpse into our history shows the evolution of swimsuit fashions – but shows that as soon as the sun comes out, we have always loved to strip off our clothes and take a dip.
