Looking for your dream job, heck any job, in a market as saturated as London's can be tough.

Luckily, new research by Job Today has revealed the perfect time to send in your CV to make your chances of securing that job higher.

They revealed that 9am on a Wednesday is the prime time to send in your CV as 17 per cent of employers choose to post new jobs on a Wednesday and a further 47 per cent of job seekers are invited in for an interview within 24 hours of the job ad being posted on a Wednesday.

Furthermore, their research found that 1pm is the time when most people are looking for jobs and that millennials are the most active when it comes to job hunting.

Women are also 20 per cent more likely to look for new roles than men - which could have something to do with the ever present gender pay gap.

Co-Founder of Job Today, Polina Montano said: “I would always recommend being enthusiastic and start early in the day to look for a role.

"Our insight shows that by lunchtime on Wednesday employers will start to receive a flurry of applications so get in there first and get noticed.”

While this theory may not work for every job (if a job's posted on Thursday you probably shouldn't wait until the following Wednesday to apply), applying first thing is a great idea to get you at the top of the inbox.
