Anyone who’s used Tinder will know that one of the biggest struggles is coming up with an original bio.

While most of us tend to ramble on about our likes and dislikes, one student in America has found a different way to draw attention to herself on the app - whilst making money at the same time.

Her bio simply reads: “Send me $5, see what happens.”

Instead of using the popular app to arrange a date, Maggie Archer uses it as a platform to get money from unsuspecting men.

Revealing her technique in a tweet, Archer says that after a man matches with her and asks what $5 will get him, she encourages them to send her money over PayPal.

Once the money has been sent, the big surprise is revealed: Archer unmatches from you.

You’re probably wondering who would fall for such a simple trick?

Well, it turns out a lot of people are more than willing to fork out the price of a Starbucks coffee just to satisfy their curiosity.

Archer posted screen shots of her PayPal history to Twitter, with transactions from more than six men in a 24-hour period.

In fact, she has received money from more than 20 paying matches in the last week, totalling over $100.

The 20-year-old says the most she has had from one match was $10.

“Some men get creepy and assume if they offer a lot more, like hundreds, something will actually happen, which of course it doesn't,” she told BuzzFeed.

“It's really a foolproof plan, because I'm not actually promising anything, I just say 'see what happens.'”

Archer's ‘foolproof plan’, however, appears to have gone awry.

A spokesperson from Tinder commented that "requesting money from other Tinder users violates our terms of service," and Archer has since had her account shut down.
