The annual Bike Shed show takes place at historic Tobacco Dock later this month - giving motorcycle aficionados, and the plain curious, a chance to ogle more than 230 expertly curated custom ‘rides’ from around the world.
Staged on the last May Bank Holiday weekend - from May 25 - 27 - this is no trade fair, with the emphasis firmly on creativity, hospitality and fun.
This privately-run event was actually the precursor to the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in Shoreditch, which has been dishing up food and drink, along with retail, a gallery and a barbershop to bike riders, tourists and the inquisitive for three years.
Building on that reputation, this, the ninth Bike Shed show will be the biggest ever, with more to look at, more people to meet, all against the stunning dockside backdrop. And you get can very up-close to the motorcycles, too.
The organisers promise 17 food & drink vendors, and five bars (including the ‘Queen Vik’ pub), 40 retail brands & exhibitors, live music, live art, photography, tattooing from seven tattooists and four barbershop chairs, just in case visitors fancy a makeover.
Fashion apparel combined with motorcycle gear from the big brands set the flavour of the show, but there will also be hand-tooled accessories, live screen-printing and helmet pin-striping too.
The main show runs on Saturday and Sunday from 10am; there are also limited tickets to the VIP Preview, on the Friday night. VIP tickets also offer re-entry all weekend. More at BikeShedLondon2018.com
