The Buckle and Seam 'Willow' duffle bag is stylish with a good cause

Buckle and Seam

Buckle and Seam are making quite an impact with motorists who, when they arrive at their boutique hotel, club or spa, want their luggage to look as good as their car. It’s no good pulling up in your Porsche then walking into reception with your worldly possessions in your scruffy old sports bag...

Their latest addition to the range is the very sophisticated-looking, handmade, £248 ‘Willow Leather Crazy Horse’ in midnight blue, which glows with style, backed by a certain tough rugged quality reminiscent of an old-fashioned, or retro, saddle bag.

Handmade from thick, sumptuous, deeply-dyed leather and boasting big, looped, leather handles as well as a detachable canvas shoulder strap, it’s been designed to fit equally well in an overhead airline locker, or in the back of your car.

It has a big, generously long YKK zipper running its length, as well as a zippered side-pouch for your phone, wallet or passport. There are six sturdy brass studs in the base to keep it off the floor while the bright cotton lining - there’s a choice, some of which are very eye-catching - gives the bag an extra dash of class. There’s a leather phone pouch inside, along with pen and card holders.

Buckle and Seam

Compared to a fabric bag it isn’t light, weighing in at two kilogrammes, but it is evidently built to last and carries enough for a night, or short weekend, away. There are no separate internal compartments so you’ll have to pack neatly. Shoes on the bottom, rolled-up trousers in between, ironed shirts on top...

Buckle and Seam sends three per cent of its revenue direct to a special school - Anum - in Pakistan, that provides young girls with an education they would not otherwise receive, helping them escape a pattern of illiteracy. So you can look stylish, be practical and help charity all in one go.
