Zenos to gain Focus RS engine

Sports car maker preparing more powerful E10R
E10R: A more powerful version of the E10

Zenos already makes a pretty potent sports car, the E10, but the company is now planning a more powerful version, the E10R.

The chassis can already handle more horsepower, so the next development will be to see what unit would best fit.

In the E10, the turbocharged Ford Ecoboost 2.0-litre four-pot already delivers either 200 or 250bhp, depending on spec, but the E10R could be powered by the 2.3-litre unit from the Ford Focus RS, which would mean 300bhp at minimum.

Currrently, company boss Mark Edwards is only hinting at “a large increase in power”. The RS engine would lead to other upgrades in braking and transmission, but Zenos is committed to ensuring affordable thrills, so costs should still be below competitors like Lotus and Caterham.

And you’d be looking at a power to weight ratio of about 500bhp per tonne. What’s not to like?
