Shambino 2021: Five things to do at Shambala’s ‘mini festival’ this weekend

Ania Shrimpton

The Shambino festival begins this week and tickets are still available for what promises to be a fun-filled “dinky distillation” of Shambala.

The scaled-down event will still feature more than 100 acts performing across 10 stages during a four-day programme bursting with immersive entertainment.

Festival goers can enjoy the likes of Steam Down, Snazzback, Wheel Up, HENGE, K.O.G and Maja Nela, Beth Rowley and Martha Tilston, The Nextmen, 2 Bad Mice, The Freestylers, DJ Dazee and Nicky Blackmarket.

Here’s five things to do at the festival, which kicks off on Thursday…

The House Party

Revellers at Shambino’s very own House Party will get the chance to make themselves at home, dance on sofas and keep their tinnies cold in the fridge as they get their fix of globe-trotting DJs at this event. Because let’s be honest, the best nights out are always nights in.

The Healing Meadow

For those feeling overwhelmed by crowds and thumping music, a sanctuary awaits them within an on-site woodland clearing. The Healing Meadows’ practitioners will soothe the senses and ease hangovers. It’s a place to just simply be still, and to learn and practice the arts of meditation, yoga and tai chi.

Dance Workshops

After 18 months without a chance to hit the dancefloor, some might feel their moves are a little rusty. The dance workshops are the place to be to throw shapes and learn new ones to bring you back up to speed. Beginners welcome.

Enchanted Woods

The Enchanted Woods is a completely separate universe: the perfect place to get lost in as its secret pathways lead you to multi-sensory art and performances. Festival-goers are invited to follow its magical melodies to discover the hidden Treehouse Stage.

Roots Tropicale

A cross between The Roots Yard and Barrio, Roots Tropicale will host a programme of reggae, roots, dub and dancehall as well as Jungle, alongside African, Latin and Tropical sounds. You can find last minute tickets to Shambino festival and its full line-up here.
