MUSIC

I love 1980s music — it’s just the best era. My favourite band is The Cure. I’ve loved them forever. Their best song is ‘Lovesong’. And I saw the Arctic Monkeys play in LA last year and that was amazing.

FITNESS

If I’m at home in Orange County, California, I’ll run for 30 or 40 minutes three times a week at around noon. I’m lucky because I live by the beach and I can run there. I also do boxing and I’ve been reading up on Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), which I want to try – it’s great training and gives you a full body workout.

FOOD

There’s nothing I don’t eat. I can cook, but I keep it simple. When I’m at home, I eat healthy food like fish and salad, but I have a sweet tooth and I love dark chocolate.

Mex appeal: Estrella (Stephanie Sigman) and Bond (Daniel Craig) join the Day of the Dead procession in Spectre.

TECHNOLOGY

Instagram is addictive — I love Salma Hayek’s feed. She’s so inspiring and real; she’ll post a selfie without much make-up on and she’s still natural and beautiful. I definitely prefer Instagram, but Twitter is good for responding to fans — lately I’ve had a lot of good feedback on Narcos. Of course, you get negative things said to you as well, but I just ignore them. I use WhatsApp every day to speak to my mum Esthela back in Mexico.

FASHION

Fashion should be fun. I like to mix up styles, so I often wear short dresses with boots or tennis shoes. The last thing I bought was a pair of grey and black leggings from Anthropologie — I’m a big fan of being comfortable. Sunglasses are an important finishing touch. My favourites are a plain black Prada pair that go with everything.

FILMS

I love action films. The trick is to find one that has a compelling script and plenty of action; it’s often one or the other. Death Proof and True Romance by Tarantino both have great stories. I love his films, they’re so unique. I’m also a big fan of Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón — he’s got a very particular vision and every time he does a movie he does it just right. He’s a genius — it’s every actor’s dream to work with someone like that. As for my favourite actor, it’s got to be Jake Gyllenhaal — he’s awesome. He’s built some really complex characters; you can see the work he puts in.

BOOKS

The Story of Mr Sommer by Patrick Süskind, about him growing up in a village in Germany, really made an impression on me. It’s a beautiful tale. Lately I’ve been reading so many scripts I haven’t had time to settle down with a book.

DÉCOR

I have quite basic taste, but I’m very particular about my bedroom. You spend so much time there, sleeping and relaxing, so a good mattress is crucial. I spent ages trying out dozens of different types, but in the end I went for a hybrid.
