For politicos

The Cinnamon Club

The Old Westminster Library, 30-32 Great Smith Street, SW1 (020 7222 2555; cinnamonclub.com)

Patronised by parliamentary bigwigs, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the capital, where chef Vivek Singh knocks up posh versions of dishes from all over his homeland. Try the chargrilled halibut with Kashmiri fennel and ginger sauce, served with curry leaf quinoa (£25).

For jet-setters

Lima

31 Rathbone Place, W1 (020 3002 2640; limalondon.com)

At this smart white space specialising in high-end Peruvian dishes devised by chef Virgilio Martinez, you can try quinoa with beef or cheese, but most interesting is the zingy starter of wild black and white quinoa with tiger’s milk and avocado (£9). Don’t worry, tiger’s milk is a spicy marinade of lime, chilli and finely sliced onion.

For culture vultures

Gallery Mess

Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York Square, SW3 (020 7730 8135; saatchi-gallery.co.uk)

After improving your mind with some art, retire to this high-ceilinged dining room and top up on antioxidants. The superfood salad lives up to its name, combining quinoa with barley, pomegranate, beetroot and peas (£9.50). Then retox with a Garden Martini (cucumber, gin, elderflower).
