A room with a view: lucky duo win the chance to stay overnight in a London Eye capsule

Two lucky people have won a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night in a London Eye capsule.

Beatriz Gaspar-Perez and her son Mark Alexander, from Spain, won the ‘Eye Spy A Home In The Sky’ competition earlier this year, and spent the night overlooking London this week.

"We feel very privileged to be the first ever people to stay overnight on the London Eye," said Ms Gaspar-Perez.

"The whole experience has been absolutely amazing!" She added.

TripAdvisor Rentals and online retailer Wayfair teamed up to transform the capsule into the ultimate room with a view; a luxury penthouse in the sky with 360 degree views of the capital.

The capsule has been designed to celebrate innovative houses in the city, combining rainforest inspired elements with modern urban style.

“The options for transforming the Coca-Cola London Eye capsule were endless.” said Nadia McCowan Hill, Style Expert at Wayfair UK.

“We knew we wanted to create a space that was as relaxing as it was breath-taking, so a five-star rain forest retreat felt like the perfect theme.”
