The verdict on Alexandria Body Sugaring

What is it? A Hollywood hair removal treatment with "Sugar Queen" Lina Kennedy, founder of Alexandria Professional.

Beauty powers: The Alexandria sugar paste used for hair extraction is all natural with no additives so there is none of the usual burning, redness and irritation that you get from waxing.

The process: Lina is refreshingly no-nonsense and I hear she's trained her girls up to be the same — there is certainly no talk of how you really should de-hair more often. Instead, she assures me: "Everybody needs this, darling, so don't panic. You'll notice a real difference", before cleansing my skin, patting on a drying powder and smoothing on a layer of lukewarm sugar paste. It's uncomfortable for all of two seconds but she flicks the paste back and forth so fast that my underarm and then bikini hairs disappear from sight before I can change my mind.

Any surprises? That the same ball of sugar paste is used for both sets of hair removal — this is by far the most efficient form of depilation — and how smooth my skin was afterwards.

Transformed? As long as you use your exfoliation mitt and Phenomen-all cream for ingrown hair daily, you'll start to understand why the stars go for this.
