Spruced up: the revamped Sheraton offers stunning views of Edinburgh Castle
12 March 2012

Destination: Edinburgh

A fixture on the Edinburgh luxury hotel list since it first opened in 1985, the Sheraton all but closed down recently for top-to-toe renovations.

Next month it re-launches with its 269 rooms spruced up in “Scottish style”— rugs with a twist on traditional tartan, an abstract stag mural, artist Lynne Macpherson’s black and white illustrations of Edinburgh not to mention glass-walled bathrooms with honeyed-stone, mood lighting and Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds.

A new Club Floor provides complimentary food and drink all day, free wi-fi and access to the rooftop pool. The award-winning, 17-treatment room One Spa remains the same with an upgraded gym and studios for burning off the local fare from the new brasserie-style restaurant. There’s also a new media hub in the lobby with free wi-fi, PCs and printers. Comedy Festival fans form an orderly queue now…

Doubles £170 per night B&B, until end of April, sheratonedinburgh.co.uk
