It’s all Greek for Aman

Aegean idyll: guest pavilions at the Aman Resorts are arranged to offer privacy and perfect views
3 April 2012

Aman junkies have a new place to book into. Nestled in the olive groves of the Peloponnese, Amanzoe will be the group’s first Greek outpost when it opens this summer.

Set facing the isle of Spetses at Porto Heli, guest pavilions (nothing so lowly as a mere room here) are arranged on different levels for privacy and perfect views across the Aegean.

Freestanding pavilions have stone-walled courtyards, terraces and pergolas; pool pavilions have six-metre pools and deluxe versions feature larger 12-metre pools and also accommodate guests with disabilities.

The beach club, with a restaurant and water sports, is a five-minute drive from the resort, reached through a thick pine forest — or guests can borrow the resort’s mountain bikes. The spa uses Aman’s own range of chemical-free skincare products (local olive oil, clay and olive seeds). Other fitness facilities include a gym, pilates equipment, a yoga studio, two outdoor tennis courts, swimming pool, with children’s pool and play area.

Pavilions from £686 per night room only, amanresorts.com. Athens airport is two and a half hour drive away.
