It seems hygge has made its way across the Atlantic.

An American ski slope has just opened the world’s first luxury ski-in, ski-out treehouse – and it looks all kinds of cosy.

Montana-based company Snow Bear Chalets have just opened three treehouses on the slopes of Whitefish Mountain Resort – and the only way to get to them is by skiing.

The luxury treehouses can sleep between six and 10 people – perfect for a couples getaway or family holiday.

Each of the timber houses sit 30 feet above the forest with panoramic views of the Glacier National Park, and all three are unique.

The Ponderosa Chalet sits just five feet from the slope – perfect for die-hard skiers – while the Tamarack and Cedar chalets sit 30 feet and 50 feet from the slope, respectively.

All three treehouses contain creature comforts, like stunning kitchens and lounges, to make relaxing easy, and come with fireplaces and hidden nooks too, so you can really settle into that holiday reading.

Prices start at £2,100 to rent for a week. For more information see their website. snowbearchalets.com
