The future of safaris: Mahali Mzuri camp in Kenya

Mahali Mzuri is the latest addition to Virgin Holidays’ collection and is sure to be a roaring success, says Jo Fernández

The latest addition to Virgin Holidays’ collection, opening on August 1, is Mahali Mzuri, set within the Motorogi Conservancy in the north of the Maasai Mara. The safari camp consists of 12 futuristically designed tents of varying sizes, with an infinity pool and spa, from where guests can spot creatures such as wildebeest, zebra and gazelles, between July and October. Fittingly, it will be bookable at Virgin Holidays’ laboratory, which has just opened at Bluewater in Kent.

This modern answer to the brochures of yesteryear (some of which have been recycled into furniture) allows visitors to experience the sense and smell of being on holiday from wafts of coconut to soft sand underfoot. Video content can be downloaded to take home, with images showing what you’d look like on your chosen holiday. Sure to be a roaring success.

Four nights from £3,099pp all-inclusive, including Kenya Airways flights from Heathrow, internal flights, transfers and taxes, departures August 1-14, vhiphotels.co.uk
