Tuscany made easy

Set to offer all a luxury traveller could possibly ask for and more, Castello de Casole, a restored castle set among vineyards, lemon and olive trees in a 4,200-acre private estate near Siena, opens in July.

The hotel’s 41 suites will include those with open beams, private gardens and terraces. Fine-dining Ristorante Tosca will serve Tuscan and Italian cuisine using produce and extra virgin olive oil made on the estate, while Pazzia pizzeria will have a traditional wood-burning pizza oven, espresso bar and gelateria.

Bar Visconti, named after Luchino Visconti, who once lived at the Castello, will offer the estate’s private label vintage.

The seven-treatment room Essere spa features vaulted ceilings and tiles made from recycled wine corks.

Deep in the grounds lie a restored 18th century chapel, for weddings and private dinners.

Suites from €630 B&B, nearest airport is Florence, 45 minutes away, castellodicasole.com.
