Russell Brand and Jemima Khan win injunction against Hungarian masseuse over 'harassment'

Comedian Russell Brand and girlfriend Jemima Khan have won an "urgent" High Court injunction to restrain a Hungarian masseuse who they claim is "harassing" them.

A judge ruled in favour of Brand and his heiress girlfriend today after the pair launched legal action against Szilvia Berki.

Mr Justice Lewis said the application was for an interim injunction "to restrain the defendant, Miss Berki, from harassing the claimants".

During proceedings he explained that the application was being made on an "urgent basis", and if granted there would be another hearing in two or three weeks time.

The judge said her "overall conduct" was alleged to be in breach of the Protection from Harassment Act.

Their barrister Aidan Eardley told the judge that the claim was "for harassment", stemming from a "private event" in early June - no further details of that were aired in court.

There had already "been some publicity about that", he said, but added that "there are a number of allegations she is seeking to publish".

Mr Eardley said the allegations had already been published to a "very limited degree", including on Twitter, but they had not yet made it to the UK's mainstream media.

The lawyer told the judge: "We seek to restrain publication of these allegations in this application."

Miss Berki was present in court for the proceedings and represented herself.

Most of the hearing was held in private following an application by Mr Eardley.

The couple's solicitor confirmed afterwards that the judge had granted an injunction.
