Olympic diver Tom Daley has spoken of his relief after he received countless messages of support following revelations he is in a gay relationship.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show tonight, he describes feeling "terrified" about the public's reaction to his bisexuality.

Last week he posted a short video on YouTube in which he announced he was dating a man. The clip has since been viewed millions of times.

Daley, 19, who is rumoured to be dating film producer Dustin Lance Black, has already been spotted house hunting for a pad in Stratford for him and his new beau. He currently lives with his mum in Plymouth.

In his first television interview since revealing he has a boyfriend, he said: "To be honest it was a terrifying decision to make.

"I didn't know what the reaction was going to be like. I didn't know how it was going to go but I just felt like I needed to say something.

"There were rumours and speculation...and I just wanted to be able to say something in my own words from my heart because I didn't know what else to do.

"I wanted to be able to be honest and open about my life."
