A motorbike rider has died following a collision in Barnet.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal crash on the A1 just south of Stirling Corner at around 5.15pm yesterday evening.

Scotland Yard said the motorcyclist, a man believed to be aged 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman said: "The man was riding a white Ducati motorcycle.

"At this early stage there have been no eyewitness reports of any other vehicle involved and officers would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them."

Next of kin have not yet been informed.
