Arsenal and Anderlecht fans clashed in a mass brawl outside King's Cross station last night after the Gunners' disappointing 3-3 draw in the Champions League.
About 30 football fans were seen throwing bottles and planks at each other when the fight erupted in north London.
Witnesses said they began punching each other in the street, bringing traffic to a standstill.
Guests at the nearby Hotel Megaro in Belgrove Street were told to stay in their rooms after the fracas broke out just before 11.30pm.
Police were called to the scene within minutes but the group fled.
A taxi driver from Islington, who did not want to be named, said he saw one man sprawled on the ground while four or five others punched and kicked him.
Describing the attack, he told the Standard: "I pulled over in Belgrove Street and got out to go to McDonalds.
"But when I got out of the car I suddenly saw a bunch of guys shouting and swearing. They were approaching the Hotel Megaro.
"They started throwing bottles and planks at a group of men standing outside. Then they started throwing punches in the road. Things went crazy- it was an all out brawl. Traffic was at a standstill. I drove away because I did not want to get something thrown at me. It was scary - there were a lot of people fighting".
He added: "You don't expect it from Arsenal fans. They are usually the cautious ones. I was surprised because they are not normally like that. I have lived in Islington all my life and usually people just leg it home after the match."
James Sandrini, operations director for the St Pancras Hotel group said only one of its hotel guests expressed concern about the brawl.
He said managers at the Hotel Megaro were speaking to police about providing officers with CCTV footage of the brawl, adding that the incident was not common in the area.
He said: "We understand there were two sets of supporters - one being Arsenal and the other being Anderlecht fans. Two Anderlecht fans were taken to hospital.
"We have a number of Belgium supporters staying with us and they were a bit riled up. The group dispersed pretty quickly as the police arrived on the scene.
"We told our guests to stay in the hotel. We only had one comment from a guest saying it was pretty worrying what happened. People were able to check in to the hotel shortly after the fight."
A spokesperson for Camden Police said one man was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made.
