A teenager is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Barking.

Police were called to Ripple Road just before 6.30pm on Thursday after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Officers and paramedics from London Ambulance service attended, and treated an 18-year-old man for a stab wound to the neck.

Four police cars, including an unmarked black vehicle, were present at the scene, close to the junction with Sunningdale Avenue.

The teenager was taken to an east London hospital, and on Friday morning officers were awaiting an update on his condition.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said no arrests had been made, and enquiries were ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
