Broadcaster Jeremy Vine has released shocking footage of a road rage clash with an angry motorist on the streets of Kensington.

The journalist claimed he got a “kicking” during the row with a “dangerous” driver as he rode his bike on his daily commute through the prosperous London district on Friday.

Footage captured by bike-mounted cameras and shared on his Facebook page shows Vine cycling down Hornton Street past Kensington Central Library when a motorist behind him sounds their horn because she cannot get past.

Moments later the 2015 Strictly star slows to a halt in the middle of the road in front of the car, sending the driver flying into a rage.

She gestures frantically with her hands as she yells “Why would you do that?” before exiting the hatchback and launching into a foul-mouthed tirade.

As Vine explains there wasn’t room for her to pass because cyclists ought to be given a car’s width, she screams: "Why the f*** would you stop in front of a car? You don't respect your f***ing life.”

A brief tussle then appears to ensue, with the woman insisting: “Move your bike, move your bike.”

The footage then cuts ahead 30 seconds, after the motorist has finally passed Vine and stopped at traffic lights. She gets out her car again as Vine warns her not to assault him before she cries: "If you take a picture of my car again I'll knock you out.”

In subtitles Vine has added to the clip, he then claims the woman formed her hand into the shape of a gun and went to “fire” it at him.

On Tuesday, Vine tweeted a link to the video with the caption: “Such a horrible moment on my cycle home. Luckily I filmed it. No fun getting a kicking.”

And in the Facebook post, he explained he was publicising the footage to his hundreds of thousands of followers because he feared his aggressor may go on to assault someone.

He wrote: “This happened on Friday. I hate to overload our hard-working London police with footage from my commute, but I feel the person you see on the tape will at some point hurt someone very badly - either with her car or in a direct personal assault. See what you think.”
