A boy has been stabbed in a south east London knife attack.
The youngster, who is in his mid-teens, was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the back on Jamaica Road in Bermondsey on Monday evening.
He was found by paramedics with a stab wound at around 5.45pm.
Police cordoned off an area near to the small Tesco supermarket and a photo of the scene shows a group of uniformed officers standing nearby.
Robin Edds, who is a writer at website Buzzfeed, shared a photo on Twitter and said there were “loads of police” and an ambulance next to a block of flats.
A spokesman for the Met Police said they were called by the ambulance service and the boy was taken to an east London hospital.
At around 10pm, a Met spokesman said the boy's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made and police continue with their enquiries.
Last week police launched an intense week-long crackdown on knife crime as part of Operation Sceptre and today announced more than 390 suspects had been arrested.
The Met also revealed a specialist taskforce has been set up with 100 officers to tackle knife crime in the capital.
It comes after 11 people were stabbed to death in the capital in a fortnight.
