A gang of teenage robbers admitted killing a chef for just £12 while he celebrated his 30th birthday.

The Old Bailey heard how their victim, Polish-born Krzysztof Rusek, went to a park near the Ibis Hotel in Fulham last June with his girlfriend and two hotel colleagues to have a few drinks for his birthday.

But they were confronted in the early hours by four hooded youths carrying knives who forced them to hand over £12 in coins, all the money they had. Then Mr Rusek was stabbed in the chest.

Ruairi Bicknell and Akeem Salako, both 18 and from west London, and two 17-year-olds who cannot be identified, admitted manslaughter and will be sentenced next month.
