A man is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed repeatedly in the stomach on a quiet south-east London road.

Police and paramedics, including London’s Air Ambulance, were scrambled to Corelli Road in Blackheath just before 6am on Wednesday.

The victim, aged in his late 30s, was rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds.

He is in a critical condition, Scotland Yard said.

No arrests have been made and a crime scene remains in place.

It comes after a woman was stabbed to death in Camberwell, south London, and a security guard died after being knifed on Park Lane in London's West End, both hours into the new year.
