A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a man during a break-in at a house in south-west London.

Martin Thomas, 39, was found with serious injuries after the incident in Huntingfield Road, Roehampton on April 22.

He died from a stab wound which punctured his lung, a post-mortem examination revealed.

The latest teenager to stand accused of killing him is understood to be one of youngest people in British criminal history to be charged with murder.

He was charged yesterday after being taken to a south London police station for questioning and was later remanded in custody before a hearing scheduled for Monday (May 5) at Wimbledon Magistrates Court, Scotland Yard said.

Three other youths have previously been arrested in connection with the investigation after Mr Thomas was found.

A 15-year-old boy has already been charged with murder and a 17-year-old boy has been released on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives continue to investigate.

They are still trying to identify three people seen in the area prior to the incident.

Anyone with information should call police on 0208 721 4205 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
