A 16-year-old boy has been arrested at Stansted Airport on suspicion of terror offences.

The boy, from the Kent area, was planning to leave the UK when he was arrested by counter-terrorism officers around 4pm on Sunday.

Thames Valley Police said he was arrested "on suspicion of collection of information which is likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism".

He has been detained in police custody.
