A popular south London nightspot was evacuated after three revellers were injured in a “terrifying” bottle attack.

Witnesses described police officers storming into Dogstar in Brixton and yelling at clubbers to leave in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Party-goers were turfed out onto the street in Coldharbour Lane as paramedics treated those who were wounded.

Josh Simpson, 24, was standing outside the club when police and ambulances arrived.

Police cordon: Officers ordered the club to evacuate.

“We were in the smoking area and all of a sudden you just see flashing blue lights everywhere,” he said.

“Next thing there were police officers running through the club and shouting at us to leave.

“We heard someone had been stabbed in the corridor and someone was being taken into the ambulance outside with blood on his face.”

Emergency: Ambulances and police cars arrived at the scene at just after 2.15am.

Mr Simpson, from Clapham, added: “It was terrifying; no one knew what was going on.”

Another club-goer Jack Kelly, 25, from Brixton, told the Standard he was inside the club when the DJ interrupted music to say “by order of the police we have to close”.

“The lights went on and people were standing around not knowing what to do. We got ushered out the fire exit. When we left there were lots of police.

“I instantly thought, with everything going on at the moment, ‘terrorist attack’”.

A spokesman for the Met Police said they were called at 2.15am on Sunday and found three people injured in what appeared to be a bottle attack.

The three people suffered cuts and were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

Night over: Clubbers were forced out of Dogstar.

One man was arrested, the police spokesman said.

The Standard has contacted Dogstar club for comment. The official Twitter page of the nightclub said there was “one individual who caused trouble” and organisers had to clear the venue for safety.

The club, which usually opens until 4am on a Sunday, added: “All is under control and individual in custody. Sorry about the inconvenience.”

Dogstar offered two people affected a free guestlist and pass.
