Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in a south London park.

Officers were called to Burgess Park in Camberwell on Tuesday night to reports of the teenage girl being sexually assaulted.

A crime scene was established after officers were called to the park around 10.30pm.

The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers. Police from the Met’s Central South Protection team are leading the investigation.

No arrests have yet been made, said local police.

Anyone who has information that could assist police is being asked to call 101, quoting the reference number CAD 8391/22Feb22.
