A cannabis forest with the potential to produce an annual income of £250,000 has been uncovered by police.

The cannabis factory, found hidden in an outbuilding of a farmhouse, in Chelsfield, Bromley, was shut down by police officers yesterday morning

Photos released by police show 600 cannabis plants grown to full size in the building.

Nobody was in the property during the time of the raid.

A 26-year-old woman arrived while police were searching the outhouse and has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

Another 23-year-old man was arrested for the same offence at an address in Orpington later the same day.

Both remain in custody at a south London police station.

Sergeant Paul Law said: “This is a great result following concerns raised by the community.

“We will continue to act on information given to use by local residents and tackle the causes of crime on our borough.”

Anyone with information about drugs and crime can call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
