A supermarket worker who carried out a string of sexual offences against women and children has been jailed for four years and six months.

Carl Adimado, 34, of Enfield, was jailed at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting 37 charges, including more than 20 ‘upskirting’ offences and five counts of sexually assaulting a child.

Some of the sick offences were carried out against children on their way to school.

The predator’s offending came to light after he recorded underneath a woman’s skirt at the supermarket where he worked close to Seven Sisters Road on July 10 last year.

When police analysed CCTV, they discovered he had carried out sixteen offences of upskirting against eight victims in one day alone.

He was charged by post for those sixteen offences.

Then, examination of his phone uncovered a sickening catalogue of indecent images of children and a “large number” of videos showing himself touching and exposing himself in public.

Footage also showed him sexually assaulting schoolgirls as they made their way to school.

He was remanded in custody and later pleaded guilty to the 16 offences of upskirting.

The school uniforms worn by the child victims in the videos allowed officers to establish their schools and identify each of them.

Adimado was charged with a further 21 offences, bringing the total number of charges to 37. The offences took place in Hackney and Enfield.

The offences included two charges of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and two charges of making indecent photographs of children.

Met PC Lee Ravens said: “Carl Adimado is a predatory offender who has committed a variety of indecent offences, in high volume, against women and girls. He was clearly not going to stop until caught.”

Alongside his jail sentence, Adimado will be subject to three years and six months on licence.

He will also be placed on the sex offender’s register for life and will be the subject of a sexual harm prevention order.

PC Ravens said: “This case clearly demonstrates the need for offences of this type to be reported to police.

“Just one brave woman coming forward has made it possible for us to remove a dangerous and callous sex offender from the community where he was offending against women and schoolgirls, as well as to identify and support other brave yet vulnerable victims.

“I applaud her actions and hope that this case encourages other women to come forward and report incidents of this type in the knowledge that such reports will be taken seriously and investigated fully.”
