This was the moment a frustrated gambler grabbed a chair and started smashing up the slot machines in a bookmakers in north-east London.

Police released CCTV footage of the shocking outburst in Chadwell Heath as they appealed for help finding the man on Tuesday.

The punter can be seen lifting up a large chair and bashing in two slot machines with its metal base.

He awkwardly attacks the machines - wrecking their front panels - moments after using one of them and apparently losing his money.

A fellow punter can be seen quickly shuffling out of the way when he realises what is about to happen.

The man then slams the chair on the floor and appears to wave at the other man before leaving.

The incident happened at a betting shop in High Road, Chadwell Heath, at about 1pm on Wednesday, October 14.

The man was thought to be in his late 30s, with a grey jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone who can identify him is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
