Two people have been arrested after a collision during a police chase in Croydon.

Officers said around 9.30pm Friday they began to pursue a “suspect vehicle” in Croydon.

Shortly after, the vehicle was involved in a traffic collision on Whitehorse Road, at the junction of St James’s Road in West Croydon.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Two suspects fled from the vehicle but were detained and arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and possession of class A drugs.

“They were taken to hospital as a precaution prior to going into police custody.”

Pictures from the scene show two cars left damaged at the “head-on” collision.

Paramedics were also called to the incident. There were no other reports of any serious injuries following the collision.

A police spokesperson said their enquiries into the incident were ongoing.
