Detectives have arrested two further men in connection with the killing of a young man who was stabbed to death in a south London park.

David Darko was fatally knifed at the South Norwood Recreational Ground last Saturday evening.

Scotland Yard said two people were arrested this morning in connection with the 21-year-old’s killing.

A 19-year-old man was held on suspicion of murder while a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Mr Darko had recently celebrated his 21st birthday before his death.

His aunt described him as a “wonderful boy”, adding: "He had lots of friends and was much loved. We are all too sad to speak much at the moment.”

The latest arrests come after 19-year-old Joshua Asante appeared at Camberwell Magistrates’ Court via video-link charged with David’s murder. He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey.

A 22-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed pending further enquires to a date in mid-March.
