Didcot triple murder: Body of suspect Jed Allen found in Oxford woodland, police say

Detectives hunting Jed Allen, who was being pursued after his young sister, mother and her partner were found stabbed to death at their home, have discovered his body in a wooded area in Oxford, police have said.

Thames Valley Police launched a manhunt after the bodies of Janet Jordon, six-year-old Derrin Jordon and Philip Howard were discovered in Didcot on Saturday evening.

In a statement, Det Supt Chris Ward said: "Just before 5pm this evening, members of the public reported finding the body of a man in a wooded area in Marston Road in Oxford.

"This is an area that had not previously been searched by police as a result of this investigation.

"Whilst no formal identification has taken place, I am satisfied that this is the body of Jed Allen, who I had previously named as a suspect in this investigation.

"Members of all of the victims families have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

"Whilst the investigation into this murder will continue I am not seeking anyone else in connection with this offence

"I would like to offer my condolences to all of the families of the vicimts in this tragic case.

"I'd also like to thank the residents of Oxford and Didcot particularly for their patience and understanding during the investigation.

"And I'd like to thank members of the media for their assistance in bringing this investigation to a conclusion."
