The estranged wife of paralysed former motorbike stunt hero Eddie Kidd was today accused of beating him.

Samantha Kidd, 44, Kidd’s wife of five years, faces six charges of assault between July and October.

Paralysed and brain-damaged when a stunt went wrong in 1996, Kidd, 53, was awarded an OBE in June. His wife, who recently moved out of their home in Seaford, East Sussex, has been bailed to appear before Brighton magistrates on January 9.
