Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Josiph Beker outside a KFC in central London.
The boys were set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday having been charged overnight.
Police were called to the Edgware Road KFC, near the junction of Church Street, just before 2pm on Tuesday.
Josiph was found suffering stab injuries. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries five hours later.
A post-mortem found he died from a stab wound to the chest.
An 18-year-old was also arrested in connection with the murder, but has been bailed.
Josiph, also known as Youssef, was studying business at nearby City of Westminster College.
His cousin, 19, told the Standard this week: “It’s awful to think he might have still been alive if he hadn’t gone to college.
“He told his mum that he didn’t want to go, saying he wasn’t well and hadn’t had much sleep the night before.
“His mum doesn’t know what to do. She has been crying all day and hasn’t been able to eat or slept since.”
