Former Scotland team football captain Colin Hendry has been charged with drink driving.

Hendry, 49, was arrested after he was stopped by police while he was driving a blue Ford Focus at 1.15am last Saturday on Church Road in Lytham, Lancashire.

The former Manchester City player was charged with drink driving and bailed to appear before Blackpool Magistrates' Court on March 4.

Hendry, who lives at Coopers Row in Lytham, had a long and successful football career as a defender with a number of clubs including Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Old Firm giants Rangers.
