Police are still hunting for a jogger who pushed a woman into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge after a third suspect was eliminated from enquiries.

Shocking footage released by detectives showed the man shove the pedestrian into oncoming traffic as he ran past.

The victim was hurled into the path of oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by a double-decker bus after the driver swerved just inches from her head in the incident on May 5 at 7.40am.

Fifteen minutes later the jogger returned and was confronted by his 33-year-old victim when he refused to acknowledge her and sped towards the north of the river.

Detectives today arrested a 49-year-old man in Aberdeen, Scotland, in relation to the incident and later released him without charge, a Met Police spokesman said.

Two 41-year-old men were previously arrested and released over the incident.

Scotland Yard is appealing for further information in a bid to trace the man, described as white and in his 30s, with brown hair and brown eyes.

“We are grateful to those who have called in so far. I am also appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV stills, or with any information that might assist the investigation to contact police or Crimestoppers."

Anyone with information should call detectives from Wandsworth CID on 020 3276 2606 or via 101, or tweet @MetCC.
