This is a frightening array of knives found during a police crackdown on weapon crime in east London.

The blades seized in a week-long operation in Hackney included what police described as large ‘rambo-style’ combat and flick knives and samurai swords.

Detectives also recovered a quantity of drugs and cash in in operations, including weapon sweeps to search for knives.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley, of Hackney CID, said: “We have been, and will continue, to work relentlessly, day and night, to target people who we believe pose a danger to the public and are involved in criminality.

“We have seized many potentially lethal weapons and drugs. We are determined to disrupt violent individuals and clearly demonstrate that this behaviour will not be tolerated on the streets of the capital.”

Two men, aged 21 and 20, were arrested. One was charged with drugs offences, the other with possession of an offensive weapon.
