A geography teacher has been cleared of raping a pupil three times in a classroom at an all-girls school in London.
Kato Harris, 37, a head of department at the school, was accused of attacking the 14-year-old in autumn 2013 during lunch breaks.
The teenager was said to have been so traumatised by the ordeal that she was treated by a psychiatrist in New York every week for a year and moved schools.
After she told her family she had been raped they sought advice from Sue Akers, the former deputy assistant commissioner for the Metropolitan Police.
But jurors found Mr Harris, from Richmond, not guilty of all the charges at his trial at Isleworth Crown Court in west London on Monday.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: "The CPS thoroughly reviewed this case and decided there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court, and that it was in the public interest to do so.
"It is not for the CPS to determine the guilt or innocence of a suspect, but to bring cases to court which meet the code for crown prosecutors.
"The evidence in this case was put before a jury and we respect their decision."
