The widow of a policeman killed in a suspected hit-and-run collision today said his death had left a “huge void” in the lives of his family.

Pc Andrew Duncan, 47, was struck by a car on Friday while working on speed checks in Sutton. The father-of-two died in hospital on Sunday.

Claire Duncan said: “Andrew was a fantastic husband, father, son and brother. We are left with a huge void in our lives, but we have fantastic memories that we will always treasure. We have had tremendous support from all Andrew’s colleagues, family and friends.”

One man has appeared in court and five others have been arrested over the incident.
