Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, have been stabbed after a "big fight" broke out in an east London street.

Police and paramedics were called to Beehive Lane, a busy road in Ilford, shortly before 4pm on Thursday.

The younger boy was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition however his injuries are no longer thought to be critical.

A large group of youths had been fighting, Scotland Yard said.

Local MP Wes Streeting said there had been a "big fight" and thanked the emergency services for their "rapid response".

A police spokesman added: “Two teenage boys were found suffering from stab injuries. They have both been taken to an east London hospital.

“Another male has been arrested on suspicion of GBH. A crime scene is in place.”
